A homeowner located in Bearsville, NY contacted us because their sump pump needed to be fixed. When our specialist got out to the home to further investigate the issue, he discovered that this homeowner had one of those sump pumps that was simply a pump inside of a hole in the ground. A system like this is not ideal since water can so easily escape due to the fact that the pump is not sitting enclosed, inside of a liner. Our specialist proposed an entirely different solution to the homeowner, our TripleSafe sump pump liner with a 1/3 horsepower cast-iron Zoeller pump on the inside. This pump has the ability to discharge up to 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an eight-foot head. In the future, if the homeowner decided they needed an additional pump to be added, this could be easily done since there is plenty of room inside the liner! We could even add the UltraSump Battery Backup System later to ensure that the sump pump continues to run smoothly in the event of a power outage or tripped circuit.
In addition to a sump pump, the homeowner also wanted to put a vapor barrier on their basement walls, so we installed our CleanSpace Wall System. This system acts as a barrier and prevents water vapor from passing through the foundation walls and into the basement. It even features built-in anti-microbial protection, which means that no mold or mildew can grow on the CleanSpace Wall System.
Once our crew was done installing these products, the homeowner felt much better and knew their basement would be protected from floods and water vapor!
