Addressing Water Intrusion & A Structural Issue in a Basement in Central Valley, NY

A homeowner in Central Valley, NY with a white house sitting on top of a bright green lawn, gave our office a call in late July because she was in search basement waterproofing experts.  Our specialist Stone headed out to her home to conduct a thorough inspection of the basement. He talked to her and walked her through the best options for the specific situation in her basement. The leaky walls needed to be dealt with, the humidity needed to be addressed, and the structural issues needed to be fixed. 

The homeowner agreed to the proposed solution and our crew got to work at the end of August. 

To combat the leaky walls, we used our CleanSpace Wall System. This completely waterproof barrier prevents water from passing through the walls, does not support mold growth, and helps to brighten up the basement in addition to its waterproofing properties. To make sure that the water had a way to get transported out of the home, we installed our interior drainage system known as WaterGuard around the edge of the concrete floor and placed the ending next to the TripleSafe Sump Pump System. The WaterGuard System collects water using its built-in wall flange and then funnels the water into this state-of-the-art sump pump system that can discharge thousands of gallons of water with its two horsepower pumps and a battery backup pump. 

To fix the structural issue, we used the CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System, which has carbon fiber straps that are ten times stronger in tension than steel and ensure that a compromised basement wall does not budge. 

Finally, to keep the basement air feeling comfortable and dry, we placed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier inside the basement. This highly efficient dehumidifier can remove up to 100 pints of water from the air per day and eliminates those musty odors. 

Now this basement is stable, dry, and protected against water intrusion thanks to our team. 

 

Fixing Four Basement Wall Cracks in Central Valley, NY

A homeowner located in Central Valley, NY contacted us because she had four cracks in her basement wall that needed to be addressed. After speaking to our appointment center representative, a time and date was selected for one of our specialists to come out to her home and investigate the situation. Lukas, our specialist, headed out to her home to see the condition of the basement wall and speak to the homeowner about any concerns she had. 

He came up with a solution that the homeowner agreed to, and it was decided that four of our FlexiSpan products would be installed to seal off these cracks for good. 

In the middle of June, a member of our team came out to the house to complete the job and repair the wall. 

First, a flexible sealant was applied along the entire length of each of the four cracks. Second, a strip of flexible and porous foam is applied on top of that. The process is finally completed by using an impermeable membrane that gets bonded to the wall on either side of the foam strip.

Since a flexible sealant is used, this ensures that the cracks will stay sealed even if the wall moves slightly. 

Now the homeowner can have peace of mind knowing the cracks in this concrete wall have been properly addressed.
