· Water was coming in through the porous concrete walls and floor in this basement in Parksville, NY. The homeowner contacted our team at The Basement Transformer to see what solution we had to offer. To stop water from seeping into this homeowner’s basement, we installed our award-winning, patented WaterGuard System. Our crew began by jackhammering around the perimeter of the basement to make room for this system. It was even more evident that this system was needed after our crew began removing parts of the concrete floor, because water could be seen all along the perimeter underneath the floor itself. Our team chose to use the WaterGuard since it is a special drainage system that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. This system is installed this way to prevent clogging from occurring due to dirt and debris. The WaterGuard also has a unique shape and large drain openings that help prevent clogging as well. It features a wall flange that extends up your basement walls by 3/8” to collect any water seeping through, which is then directed to your sump pump system. This is exactly what this homeowner needed to put an end to the water intrusion they were experiencing. Once the job was completed, this homeowner knew any water that found its way into the basement would not end up on the floor but instead collected by the WaterGuard.
