When Bob N. called to make the appointment for some work in the basement, we spoke for about 30 - 40 minutes to set an appointment. Mark and David arrived for the appointment and spent 5 hours determining what the homeowners were looking for. At first all they wanted was a bathroom and some walls finished. After learning what we do and why we do it, The home owner chose to make a new Master Suite. We created exactly what they wanted. We started fixing the leaks in the walls. Then onto finishing the walls with Everlast Insulated finished wall panels and Everlast Finished wall panels for interior walls. We installed Canyon Beige ThermalDry Tiles through most of the space and Grey ThermalDry tiles in the bathroom. We used the bright white Linen ceiling tiles that are warranted for 30 years. To make this space legal we installed the Rockwell Premier window well for the egress. We made a bathroom with a 5' shower stall, a comfort height toilet and a vanity, (picked out by the homeowner). We then made a large walk in closet the size of some peoples bedrooms. The stairs to the basement were unsafe and not easy to navigate, these were completely removed and replaced. The homeowner selected a mini split heating and cooling system to keep the environment comfortable all the time.
A homeowner in Callicoon, New York, reached out to us with a persistent issue of water intrusion in their basement. They noticed that whenever it rained heavily, their basement would flood, leaving the space, damp, musty, and unusable. Concerned about potential damage to their belongings and tired of the unusable space, the homeowner contacted us for a solution. After discussing that concerns with our Appointment Center, we scheduled a free basement inspection with one of our highly trained specialists. The inspection revealed that hydrostatic pressure was building up around the home's foundation, causing water to seep through any small openings, leading to the flooding. Understanding the root cause, our specialist devised a comprehensive plan to tackle the water intrusion problem effectively. The proposed solution included the installation of our WaterGuard system, TripleSafe sump pumps system, and SaniDry dehumidifier system. The WaterGuard system was to be installed around the perimeter of the basement to capture and direct any water into our TripleSafe sump pump system. The TripleSafe sump pump system with its three layers of protection, will collect and discharge the water out of the basement and away from the foundation. To ensure the basement remain dry and free from moisture, mold, or mildew particles, we also recommended installing a SaniDry dehumidifier system, which is designed to create a healthier environment. After discussing the repair options with the homeowner, they were eager to proceed with the installation. On the scheduled installation day, our production team, led by a highly trained Foreman, arrived and efficiently installed the proposed system. The result was a basement, that no longer leaked during rainstorms and remain completely dry and usable, regardless of the weather conditions. The homeowner was thrilled with the transformation. A homeowner in Callicoon, New York, reached out to us with concerns about their crawlspace, which seem to flood every time it rains, creating a nasty, moldy, unusable space under their home. The homeowner called us and discussed their concerns with our Appointment Center, who then scheduled an inspection with one of our highly trained specialists. On the day of the inspection, our specialist arrived, met with the homeowner, and performed a thorough inspection of the crawlspace. The inspection revealed significant water intrusion issues due to the home's location in an area with a high-water table. After understanding the cause of the flooding, our specialist designed a comprehensive solution to address the crawlspace issues. The proposed solution involved encapsulating the crawlspace using our CleanSpace vapor barrier system, sump pump system, and SaniDry dehumidifier system. The process began with placing a layer of drainage matting over the dirt floor to control and direct the flow of any water entering the crawlspace. To prevent water or moisture from entering, we installed a CleanSpace vapor barrier system over the drainage matting, creating a clean, dry, bright and usable space. Our specialist recommended they have our basement waterproofing system installed which consist of our TripleSafe sump pump system, our WaterGuard system, and our SaniDry dehumidifier system. The way our system works is by our crew first coming in and jackhammering a trench around the perimeter of the basement so that they can install our water guard system. A homeowner located in Swan Lake, NY wanted to repair the crack that was in their basement wall so they contacted The Basement Transformer to see how we could help. Cracks can allow water to seep into your basement and cause floods if left unrepaired. The soil surrounding the foundation of a home is often filled with water, which is how water can get in through a crack in the wall in the first place. Here at The Basement Transformer, we offer FlexiSpan to help put an end to this problem. This innovative polyurethane sealant closes off cracks for good and prevents water from intruding into your basement. It does not dry out or fall apart and even has the capability to flex with the natural movement of your foundation walls. The installation process began with applying a flexible sealant along the entire length of the crack and then attaching a piece of flexible & porous foam on top. The final touch was the impermeable membrane being adhered to the wall on either side of the foam strip. When the job was done, this homeowner felt at ease knowing the crack in their basement wall was sealed and protected.
· A homeowner in South Fallsburg, NY wanted their basement to have the ultimate protection against flooding, so they contacted The Basement Transformer to help. To ease their mind and eliminate their concerns, our crew installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System and our IceGuard Discharge Line System. Both products are a perfect match and give homeowners the best way to prevent major floods from happening in their home.
The TripleSafe Sump Pump system comes with two cast-iron horsepower sump pumps that can discharge thousands of gallons of water. The primary pump is set at 1/3 horsepower and can discharge up to 2,200 gallons of water. The secondary pump can discharge up to 3,900 additional gallons of water and is set at 1/2 horsepower. In the event your circuit trips, you have a power outage, or your sump pump fails – the UltraSump Battery Backup System will save the day. It can discharge up to 11,500 or more gallons of water on a fully charged battery. The homeowner opted to install this trustworthy device along with their TripleSafe Sump Pump System.
The IceGuard Discharge Line helps to keep the water flowing out of the home, even if the line was to freeze during the wintertime or somehow became clogged. When the main line is working properly, the water flows from the sump pump and out of the home as usual. If the discharge line was to freeze however, the IceGuard gives the water another way to escape thanks to the slotted openings in the drain pipe. Once the job was complete, this homeowner could relax knowing their basement was equipped with the proper tools to prevent flooding.
· Water was coming in through the porous concrete walls and floor in this basement in Parksville, NY. The homeowner contacted our team at The Basement Transformer to see what solution we had to offer. To stop water from seeping into this homeowner’s basement, we installed our award-winning, patented WaterGuard System. Our crew began by jackhammering around the perimeter of the basement to make room for this system. It was even more evident that this system was needed after our crew began removing parts of the concrete floor, because water could be seen all along the perimeter underneath the floor itself. Our team chose to use the WaterGuard since it is a special drainage system that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. This system is installed this way to prevent clogging from occurring due to dirt and debris. The WaterGuard also has a unique shape and large drain openings that help prevent clogging as well. It features a wall flange that extends up your basement walls by 3/8” to collect any water seeping through, which is then directed to your sump pump system. This is exactly what this homeowner needed to put an end to the water intrusion they were experiencing. Once the job was completed, this homeowner knew any water that found its way into the basement would not end up on the floor but instead collected by the WaterGuard.
