Waterproofing a Basement in Walden, NY

This homeowner in Walden, NY contacted our team at The Basement Transformer because they were having issues with water intrusion in their basement.

The bottom part of their walls had been damaged from water, and they needed a way to keep the water out permanently so that no more damage would occur. We replaced the bottom portion of the walls with our EverLast Finished Wall Restoration System. This wall system is made from inorganic materials and metal studs, so unlike drywall it cannot be damaged by flooding and will hold up in a basement environment.

We also installed our DryTrak System and TripleSafe Sump Pump System to collect the water coming in and direct it out and away from the home.

This homeowner had a monolithic foundation, so DryTrak was necessary to avoid labor intensive jackhammering of a thick floor and large amounts of dust. This drainpipe is epoxied right on top of the floor and against the wall, featuring a slight opening at the top so it can collect any water leaking through the walls.

The TripleSafe Sump Pump System provides the ultimate protection against flooding, which is why we also installed it for this homeowner. It features two cast-iron Zoller horsepower sump pumps capable of discharging thousands of gallons of water. If either of those fail or if a power outage occurs, the UltraSump battery backup system that we attached will take over and keep the sump pump running as planned. On a fully charged battery, it can discharge up to 11,500 gallons of water or more and helps to prevent your system from getting backed up and flooding your basement.

Finally, we finished the job by installing our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to keep the basement air dry. It can remove up to 100 pints of water from the air per day and can be drained directly into the sump pump system.

Once this job was done, the homeowner could experience peace of mind knowing they had a great basement waterproofing system in place.
