We gave a homeowner’s basement and crawl space a total transformation out in New City, NY.

After scheduling her for a free estimate with our basement specialist, a solution was proposed that addressed all three of her major concerns.  

Her basement was having water problems, the crawl space needed to be sealed off, and part of her basement near the staircase needed some remodeling. She agreed to the solution presented and in early September our crew stepped into the home to complete the work. 

In the basement where the water issues were occurring, we installed our interior drainage systems known as WaterGuard and TrenchDrain. The crew jackhammered away at the concrete slab to make room for both systems to go along the perimeter of the room they were going into. The WaterGuard System sits just below the concrete slab and collects the water from the walls using its built-in wall flange.  The TrenchDrain System went in front of electrical appliances that could not be moved. It can receive water from the floor thanks to its grated opening. Both interior drainage systems were set up to funnel the water directly into the SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System we installed as well. It contains a 1/3 horsepower pump capable of discharging up to 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head. On the discharge line for the sump pump, we placed the IceGuard to prevent floods from happening due to a frozen or clogged discharge line during the winter. A small strip of our CleanSpace Wall System was placed on the bottom portion of the wall to help direct any water into the WaterGuard System. 

Inside the crawl space, we used our CleanSpace Encapsulation System with our drainage matting underneath to enhance the longevity and durability of it. This 20-mil thick reinforced polymer liner prevents moisture from seeping into the crawl space and does not support mold growth. We insulated it using our SilverGlo panels on the walls and foam insulation along the rim joists to prevent the outside air from coming inside. 

Finally, to make the area around the staircase look nice and polished, we used our EverLast Wall Restoration System on the walls and our ElitePlank Flooring at the base of the staircase. Neither of these products can be damaged due to moisture, making them perfect to install in a basement environment. Once we were done, the homeowner had a dry basement and crawl space and a lovely looking area near her staircase! 

A homeowner with a leaky basement in New City, NY contacted our company to see how we could help her. Our appointment center team booked her for a free estimate and sent one of our transformation specialists to do a thorough inspection of her basement. After speaking with the homeowner about her concerns and issues with the basement, a full waterproofing solution was drafted and proposed. The homeowner agreed, and in late August of 2026 our crew got to work. 

They started by ripping out the previously finished basement and taking down the ceiling, walls, floors, and cabinets. What was uncovered was damaged concrete walls and floors. They were stained and the white paint on the concrete block walls was chipping. 

To begin fixing these issues, the crew laid down the interior drainage system known as DryTrak all along the perimeter of the basement. It is designed for homes specifically with monolithic foundations and collects any incoming water through the walls via the slight opening at the top of the system. The baseboard drain gets epoxied to the floor permanently, ensuring that it will not budge. The DryTrak System will then drain the water into the TripleSafe Sump Pump System that we installed, and it will take care of transporting that water out and away from the foundation. It is designed to keep up with large volumes of water, and the battery backup system keeps it running even if there’s a power outage or a tripped circuit. 

On the discharge line for the sump pump, the IceGuard was included to allow water to continue to escape in the event the discharge line becomes frozen or clogged during the winter, which also prevents flooding from happening in these scenarios. 

On the walls the CleanSpace Wall System was placed, which is a plastic barrier designed to prevent water vapor and humidity from passing through. It also does not support mold growth. 

Finally, to prevent the level of humidity from getting out of control, we installed the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier which can remove up to 100 pints of water from the basement air per day!

This allows water to continue to escape in the event your discharge line freezes or clogs during the wintertime. The slotted rain openings let the water continue to flow so you do not have to worry about major flooding during the colder months.
