A homeowner in New Windsor, NY had a crawl space with a sagging floor above it. This issue prevented certain doors in the upstairs portion of the house from closing properly. They contacted our team at The Basement Transformer to see how we could help. After the inspection was complete, our specialist proposed installing our SmartJack Crawl Space Support System to solve this problem.
This system is designed to restore the stability to the sagging floor joists within the crawl space. Unlike wooden posts, these will never rot because they are made from galvanized steel. They can even support loads up to 60,000 pounds or more! Our SmartJack system is a permanent solution for foundation problems that is installed by attaching a steel support beam to your floor joists with a solid base on the floor. As an added benefit, once all the SmartJacks are in place, they can be adjusted at any time should your home require it. Our crew installed four of our SmartJacks along with two SmartBeams, and once the job was done the doors upstairs closed properly! The homeowner’s mother was absolutely thrilled that her closet and the front door were functional again.

Our team had the honor of helping this family in New Windsor with a damaged basement from years of flooding. Their goal was to create a safe and dry space for their daughters to play in and enjoy.
To start, we had to remove the lower 32" of damaged sheet rock and other organic material that over time are going to grow mold and mildew; not the best environment for children. We then used our patented Everlast Wall Panels and PVC trim which is specifically designed for high humidity areas. They are highly mold resistant, unlike standard gypsum or sheetrock boards that other contractors would use.
After just 3 days, we were able to achieve the customers goal and give them a space that they thought would take months to accomplish. Thank you to these homeowners for allowing us to be a part of it!!!
