Stopping Water Intrusion and Preventing Floods in Chester, NY

· A homeowner located in Chester, NY was dealing with water intrusion inside their basement and needed a way to stop it. They contacted our team at The Basement Transformer to see how we could help them solve this problem. After conducting an inspection of the basement, it was determined that our WaterGuard System and TripleSafe Sump Pump System needed to be installed. Our crew began jackhammering around the perimeter of the concrete slab to make room for the WaterGuard System, and water was found hiding below the surface. It was even more evident that this drainage system was needed. The WaterGuard system features a built-in wall flange that allows it to the collect the water that leaks through your basement walls. It is also installed on top of the foundation footing where it sits in bed of drainage stone in order to keep it away from what is known as the “mud zone”. This helps to prevent the system from becoming clogged with dirt and debris. This drainage system will then take the water that it has collected and directs it over to the TripleSafe Sump Pump System. This patented system is equipped with two cast-iron Zoeller horsepower pumps that can discharge thousands of gallons of water from your home. It also features an UltraSump Battery Backup System that will keep the sump pump running smoothly in the event of a power outage or a tripped circuit.

Our crew got started by jackhammering a hole big enough to fit the sump liner inside this person’s basement. They also drilled holes large enough to run the discharge line outside to the exterior of the home.

The Triple Safe Sump Pump System features three modes of protection against flooding, which is exactly why the homeowner went with this option. It features two cast-iron Zoeller horsepower sump pumps that are designed to discharge thousands of gallons of water. A battery backup sump pump system known as the UltraSump was also attached, which helps the sump pump to continue working even under the harshest conditions. On a fully charged battery it can pump up to 11,500 or more gallons of water.

The IceGuard Discharge Line System allows the sump pump to still discharge water in the event the line freezes during the wintertime or somehow becomes clogged. The special slotted openings in the drain pipe give the water another route to escape, allowing water to leave the home and not back up your sump pump.
