Basement Waterproofing & Crawl Space Repair in Greenwood Lake, NY

A homeowner living in an adorable red and brown cottage out in Greenwood Lake, NY had a disaster of a crawl space lurking underneath her home. We booked her for a free estimate with our specialist Lukas, and he went over all her concerns with her. He proposed a solution to waterproof and seal off the crawl space from the elements, the homeowner agreed, and in early October of 2026 our crew got to work. 

First, the crew removed all the debris and the insulation and dug an area to install the SmartSump Crawl Space Sump Pump System. It features a 1/3 horsepower Zoeller pump that can pump out 2,500 gallons of water per hour at a 5-foot head. It ensures that any incoming water gets pumped out and away from the crawl space. We also installed the StarPipe Drainage System adjacent to it to help funnel any water into the sump pump. Next, over the dirt floor, the crew laid down some XL drainage matting which helps enhance the longevity and durability of the liner that goes on top of it. 

We placed the CleanSpace Encapsulation System over the drainage matting and along the very bottom of the walls to prevent moisture from getting inside. This 20-mil reinforced polymer liner is designed to be durable and stop humidity from wreaking havoc on the space. On the walls we used our Foamax wall panels to help reduce condensation. We insulated the rim joists with foam insulation to reduce conductive heat loss, and we even installed four of our CleanSpace vent covers to keep the crawl space dry and to prevent unconditioned outside air from getting in. 

To restore stability, we placed one SmartBeam and three SmartJacks to prevent the floor above from continuing to sag. Finally, we installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier which removes up to 100 pints of water per day to keep the crawl space air and the contents inside dry.
