Job Stories From Greenwood Lake, NY
Waterproofing a Basement and Encapsulating a Crawl Space in Greenwood Lake, NY

A homeowner in Greenwood Lake, NY with a lovely log cabin on a luscious green lawn had been dealing with water leaking underneath their home for 30 years. Whenever it rained heavily, the water would come in through one area specifically. A portion of the area underneath the home was made up of a rocky ledge as well. Our specialist Lukas headed out to take a look and came up with a plan that would waterproof the basement portion and encapsulate the crawl space portion. The homeowner agreed to the proposed solution and our crew got to work towards the end of April. Inside the basement we installed our WaterGuard System and SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System to protect the basement from water intrusion during heavy rains. The WaterGuard System is an interior drainage system that works to collect the water leaking through your basement walls and drains it into the sump pump system we installed. The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System helps to keep basements dry and healthy for long periods of time, even during heavy rains which the homeowner was concerned about. It features a 1/3 horsepower cast-iron sump pump which can discharge up to 2,220 gallons of water from your home at an 8-foot head.

For the crawl space portion of the project, we installed our drainage matting and CleanSpace Encapsulation System. The drainage matting helps to enhance the durability and longevity of the CleanSpace Encapsulation System. The encapsulation system itself is made of a 20-mil reinforced polymer liner that acts as vapor barrier and prevents moisture from getting inside your crawl space. This ensures that your crawl space is protected from mold and other issues that water can cause. The CleanSpace Encapsulation System does not support mold growth and has built-in anti-microbial protection. Once our team was finished, this homeowner no longer had to worry about water wreaking havoc on their basement or crawl space.

Transforming a Dirt Crawl Space in Greenwood Lake, NY

A homeowner in Greenwood Lake, NY was dealing with a crawl space that was having issues which needed to be addressed. It was filled with jagged rocks, old cinder blocks, and the fiberglass insulation residing within the floor joists above had fallen apart. When fiberglass insulation absorbs moisture, it can lose its ability to insulate properly or even break apart. When our transformation specialist John went to inspect the crawl space, he noticed all these things and proposed that we encapsulate the crawl space. The homeowner agreed and our team got to work by installing our drainage matting first all over the dirt floor. This helps to enhance the durability and longevity of the encapsulation system that we install on top. The CleanSpace Encapsualtion System was installed next. This 20-mil reinforced polymer liner is super strong, can resist wear and tears, and will last as long as your house. It acts as a vapor barrier that helps protect your crawl space from unwanted moisture getting inside. Excess moisture can lead to rotten wood floor joists or mold, two things that no one wants to deal with. The CleanSpace Encapsulation System does not support mold growth and has built-in antimicrobial protection. We also removed the existing fiberglass insulation so that it would not continue to absorb moisture or fall away from the floor joists. Once our team was done, this crawl space went from being an unsightly area to a dry and healthy environment! The homeowner no longer had to worry about water wreaking havoc inside their crawl space.

IceGuard Installation for a Sump Pump in Greenwood Lake, NY

A homeowner in Greenwood Lake, NY wanted to be in a peaceful state of mind knowing that their sump pump system would never fail and would continue to work despite any harsh weather conditions that could arise.

To make sure their TripleSafe Sump Pump System ran smoothly during the wintertime, we installed our IceGuard Discharge Line System along with it.

In the event your line freezes, causing water to back up into your sump pump, the IceGuard will give the water a secondary route to escape. With its unique design, it fits over the top of the discharge line for the sump pump and allows water to leave through the slotted holes in the drainpipe. All the water will be directed away from the home, avoiding any horrible floods. After this was installed, this homeowner knew their crawl space would remain dry no matter what kind of weather they were having!
