Step 1: Deal With the Dirty Crawl Space
As you can see from this photo, the crawl space was in bad condition. It was clear that this crawl space needed some serious repairs and a thorough clean up.
Step 2: Install Drainage Matting
First the crew lays down some drainage matting over the dirt floor. This is done to help enhance the longevity and durability of the encapsulation liner that will go on top.
Step 3: Stabilize and Insulate
We insulated this crawl space using our Foamax wall panels which also feature a foil vapor barrier on the back. This vapor barrier helps to control the humidity in the crawl space, and the Foamax panels made of polyisocyanurate foam will keep out cold air and make the crawl space feel warmer. We used our SmartJack System to stabilize the sagging floor joists above. These supports are made of galvanized steel, and unlike wood, they will not rot or fall apart due to moisture.
Step 4: Encapsulate the Crawl Space
We sealed off this crawl space from the earth using our super durable CleanSpace Encapsulation System. This 20-mil reinforced polymer liner will never rip or tear and keep water vapor from seeping into this crawl space! Mold cannot grow on top of it either.
