A homeowner wanted to protect their basement from flooding so they contacted us to see how we could help them. When the rain came, the basement was having water issues. To give their basement the ultimate form of protection during rainstorms, our specialist proposed installing our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. This patented system features two cast iron Zoeller horsepower pumps that can discharge thousands of gallons of water from your home. It also features an UltraSump Battery Backup System that keeps your system running smoothly even in the event of a power outage or pump failure. On a fully charged battery, this device can discharge up to 11,500 gallons of water or more from your home. Our production crew installed this sump pump system by running the discharge line partially underground inside the basement and leading to the outside of the house. This would ensure any water coming into the basement would be transported out and away from the foundation. Once this system was installed, the homeowner knew they had a reliable system in place to prevent floods from happening in their basement.

Job Stories From Newburgh, NY
Keeping Cold Air Out of a Crawl Space in Newburgh, NY

A homeowner in Newburgh, NY contacted us because the pipes running through her crawl space were freezing.

Our appointment center promptly got her on the schedule for a free estimate with our transformation specialist Paul.

Paul went out to the home to inspect the crawl space and came up with a solution that would help the crawl space stay warm and sealed off from the earth. The homeowner agreed to this solution and in late May our crew got to work.

The floor of the crawl space was covered with drainage matting which helps form a permanent seal over the floor and increases the longevity and durability of the liner that goes on top. Next, the crew placed the CleanSpace Encapsulation System over the drainage matting and partially up the walls of the crawl space. This thick and super strong 20-mil reinforced polymer liner prevents moisture and water vapor from seeping into the crawl space.

On the walls themselves our SilverGlo rigid foam insulated panels were installed to do what the fiberglass insulation in this crawl space failed to do. Unlike fiberglass, these panels can stop air leaks in their tracks and will not absorb moisture only to fall apart later.

We also used our CleanSpace vent covers to stop unconditioned air from getting inside and foam insulation to seal the rim joists to reduce conductive heat loss.

Now this homeowner no longer has to fret about the pipes in her crawl space freezing!

Encapsulating and Insulating a Crawl Space in Newburgh, NY

A homeowner in Newburgh, NY was looking to clean up his crawl space so he could use it to safely store more of his belongings. Our appointment center contacted him after he filled out his information on our web form via our website. Once the appointment for a free estimate was made, our specialist Paul headed out to the home. Upon inspection it was discovered that the crawl space was filled with dirt, spider webs, and insulation that had fallen apart. To fix these problems and turn the crawl space into a healthy environment, our crew started the encapsulation process in late April.

First, drainage matting was placed on the floor of the crawl space to increase the durability and longevity of the waterproof barrier that was to go on top.

Next, the team placed the CleanSpace Encapsulation System on top and partially up the wall. This 20-mil reinforced polymer liner prevents water from being able to come up through the ground and into the crawl space. It’s super durable and resistant to wear and tear.

On the walls, we placed our SilverGlo rigid foam insulation panels which stop air leaks and never lose their R-value like fiberglass does.

The rim joists were sealed with orange colored foam insulation to reduce conductive heat loss. Finally, we covered the existing vents with our CleanSpace vent covers which are also insulated and create an airtight seal so no outside air can get inside.

Once we were finished, this crawl space was protected from the outside elements and ready to be used as a storage space!

Turning a Wet Basement into a Dry Space in Newburgh, NY

A homeowner who lives in Newburgh, NY got in touch with our company because her basement was leaking and water was visibly present in the space. Our appointment center scheduled a time and day for our transformation specialist Paul to meet with the homeowner and evaluate the situation. The white concrete block walls had water stains on them and signs of deterioration. There was also some water pooled in one corner of the basement. To help the homeowner combat these problems, Paul proposed a complete waterproofing solution. The homeowner agreed and in May our crew got to work.

On the walls of the basement, we used our CleanSpace Wall System with anti-microbial protection built in to serve as vapor barrier and prevent water from seeping through the concrete blocks and into the basement.

This wall system will help funnel any incoming water into the WaterGuard System that was installed as well. This interior drainage system goes all the way around the perimeter of the basement and uses its wall flange to collect water coming from the walls. It then transports that water into the TripleSafe Sump Pump System the crew installed and placed into the concrete slab, where it gets discharged out and away from the home. The IceGuard on the discharge line for the sump pump helps to prevent major floods from occurring during the winter months if the discharge line becomes frozen or clogged. It allows water to escape through its slotted openings.

To ensure the basement air stays dry and humidity free - we placed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier in the space, which can remove up to 100 pints of water from the air per day.

Now that this job is done, the homeowner can enjoy her dry basement for years to come.

Sealing Off a Dirt Crawl Space from the Earth in Newburgh, NY

A homeowner with a crawl space full of dirt and debris in Newbrugh, NY contacted us for help. The appointment center got the homeowner on our schedule for a free estimate, and our transformation specialist went to the home to do an evaluation of the crawl space in question.

Our transformation specialist proposed that we waterproof and insulate the space to address all the concerns.

The homeowner agreed to the proposed solution and our crew headed out to the home to complete the job and install the products.

First, drainage matting was placed over top of the dirt floor of the crawl space after the debris was removed. It helps the water travel to the sump pump we installed inside the space and helps increase the longevity and durability of the CleanSpace Encapsulation System. Over the drainage matting, we installed our TerraBlock foam insulation to help keep the floor of the crawl space feeling comfortable instead of cold. On the walls we installed our SilverGlo rigid foam insulation panels to prevent air leaks from happening.

On top of the drainage matting and TerraBlock, we installed our CleanSpace Encapsulation System which is a super durable waterproof vapor barrier that blocks moisture from passing through.

We also installed our CleanSpace Vent Covers over the existing vents, which provide an airtight seal against the unconditioned air from the outdoors.

Finally, to fully waterproof the crawl space, we installed the

SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System and SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. The sump pump will handle any incoming water and transport it out and away from the home. The dehumidifier can filter out particles smaller than two microns in size and remove up to 100 pints of water from the air per day.

Thanks to our team this crawl space is now a dry and healthy space for years to come!

Restoring Stability to a Crawl Space in Newburgh, NY

A homeowner in Newburgh, NY contacted us to see how we could help restore stability to the crawl space underneath his home. The home was built in 1910, and the homeowner was looking to rent the property out eventually. In order to do that, the home needed to be stabilized of course. We got this homeowner on a schedule for a free estimate with our specialist Bryon, who went and inspected the crawl space. The homeowner informed Bryon during the inspection that the stairs leading into the crawl space were a safety hazard because they had started to sink. Bryon came up with a proposal for this homeowner that would restore stability to the sagging floor joists above as well as the stairs.

The homeowner agreed to the solution and our team got to work towards the end of January.

We used our SmartJack System to permanently stabilize this crawl space. We placed several SmartJacks inside and our crew also removed 3 of the existing footings that were no longer safe. The main girder was also replaced, and the stairs were reinforced with two SmartJacks. These supports are made of galvanized steel, which means unlike wood, they will never rot or fall apart. They can also support loads up to 60,000 pounds or more and can be adjusted at any time should the home need it.

Once our crew was done – this homeowner could relax knowing that his home was permanently stabilized for future renters!

Restoring Basement Walls in Newburgh, NY

A homeowner located in Newburgh, NY needed the bottom portion of their basement walls to be replaced due to water intrusion. The concrete blocks underneath the sheetrock and wall panels had water stains all over them and the paint on some of them had chipped away. These were clear signs that water was seeping through the walls. The homeowner contacted our company to see how we could help them to protect their basement walls from water damage. Our specialist proposed installing our EverLast Finished Wall Restoration System. This system is a great solution for homeowners who have damaged walls in an already finished basement. These inorganic, durable wall panels cannot be damaged by water, and they do not support mold or mildew growth. The EverLast Finished Wall Restoration System also features metal studs, inorganic base molding, and a decorative chair rail that provides a long-lasting solution and makes your basement look great.

Once the EverLast Finished Wall Restoration System was in place, this homeowner had walls that could withstand a basement environment, would not be damaged by water, and looked great!

Preventing Water Intrusion in a Crawlspace in Newburgh, NY

This homeowner called us to help them waterproof their crawlspace and prevent water from being where it does not belong. We installed a sump pump that is specially designed to fit inside crawlspaces such as the one this homeowner had. This sump pump is known as the SmartSump Crawl Space Sump Pump System.

It provides protection against leaks and floods. It even features a 1/3 horsepower cast-iron Zoller pump with the ability to discharge up to 2,500 gallons of water out of your crawlspace. As an extra layer of protection against floods, we also installed our IceGuard Discharge Line System. This special device fits over the top of the discharge line and provides the water with a secondary escape route in the event your main line gets clogged or freezes during the winter. So even when those cold temperatures come about, you don’t have to worry about your sump pump system not working. It will continue to safely discharge the water even if your line does freeze.

We installed this by jackhammering a hole in the concrete floor big enough for the sump liner, and running the discharge line outside of the house with the IceGuard attached. We made sure to re-pour the concrete we removed once everything was in place.

Now this homeowner could experience peace knowing they did not have to worry about water entering their crawlspace or a flood occurring in the winter.

Crawlspace Repair in Newburgh, New York

A homeowner in Newburgh, New York reached out to us with concerns about their crawl space, it seemed to flood every time it rained which was creating a nasty, moldy, unusable space under their home. The homeowner was gave us a call and discussed their concerns with our Appointment Center who then scheduled them for an inspection with one of our highly trained specialists. On the day of the inspection, our specialist showed up, met with the homeowner, and performed a thorough inspection of the crawl space. The results of the inspection was that they water intrusion issues in their crawl space due to living in an area with a high water, after understand the cause of the flooding our specialist created a complete solution to solve their crawl space issues. The solution our specialist proposed was to have their crawl space encapsulated using our CleanSpace vapor barrier system, sump pump system, and our SaniDry dehumidifier system. The way this works is by a layer of drainage matting being placed over the dirt floor to control and direct the flow of any water that tries to enter the crawl space. To prevent any water or moisture from entering the crawl space we installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier system over the drainage matting to create a clean, dry, bright, usable space. To ensure this crawl space no longer floods we installed our sump pump system, which will collect any water that flows under the drainage matting and discharges it out and away from the home. The last recommended system was our SaniDry dehumidifier, which is designed to remove any moisture, mold, or small mildew particles from the air ensuring a healthy, safe environment. After reviewing the proposed solution with the homeowner they gave us the green light to encapsulate their crawl space. On the day of the installation, our production team led by a highly trained Foreman came in and installed the proposed plan our specialist created for this crawl space. The end result was a crawl space that was clean, dry, and usable and a homeowner who no longer had concerns about their crawl space.
