Efflorescence Along the Edge of the Walls
This photo shows clear signs that water was seeping up through the floor and onto the walls. Efflorescence could be seen all along the bottom of the walls, where the edges meet the floor. After the minerals in these concrete blocks dissolved in water, and the water evaporated, this chalky-white substance was left behind.
Interior Drainage System in Place
We installed our WaterGuard System to help collect the water that finds its way into this basement. The built-in wall flange allows the water to go directly into the system where it then gets drained into the sump pump system.
Sump Pump System
For this homeowner, we installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump liner with a 1/3 horsepower Zoeller cast-iron pump inside. This pump can discharge up to 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head. This will ensure that the basement is protected from water intrusion during rainstorms.
IceGuard Serves as a Backup
We also installed our IceGuard on the discharge line running from the sump pump to the outside of the house. This helps prevent a flood from occurring during the wintertime. If the main discharge line gets frozen or clogged, the water can still escape through the slotted openings on the IceGuard.
