WaterGuard vs DryTrak: What is the Difference?

Do you have water in your basement?

Do you want a system that will take care of the problem for you?

Either our WaterGuard System or our DryTrak Drain Pipe System that we offer may be a great option for you!

Now comes the hard part – deciding which one should be installed in your basement.

Thankfully, here at The Basement Transformer we have a knowledgeable team of specialists that will come out to your home to assess the situation to determine which system is best for you and your home.

Our WaterGuard Drainage System is a very popular system and is often the ideal choice for waterproofing your basement. It is designed to sit below the floor slab and above the foundation footing in a bed of drainage stone. This patented and award-winning system has a unique shape with large openings that makes it resistant to clogs. We also install it away from what is known as the “mud zone” – so it does not back up with dirt or debris.

It even features a wall flange that extends up your basement wall at 3/8” to help the system collect the water leaking in through the walls.

The WaterGuard then takes that water and directs it to your sump pump system, where it will be discharged from the home.

This system is installed quickly and easily and requires minimal invasion to your concrete slab. By the time our crew is done you can barely tell the WaterGuard is there, because all the concrete that was removed using our jackhammers gets restored.

For homes that have a monolithic foundation, where the footing and floor are poured as a single piece, we will install our Dry Trak Drain Pipe System.

DryTrak is installed in a different way compared to WaterGuard. In this case, no jackhammering is required because DryTrak gets permanently epoxied to your basement floor, along the wall. We install the system in this manner to avoid jackhammering on an extremely thick floor, which would create a ton of dust, and to avoid disturbing your foundation in any way.

The slight opening at the top allows for the water seeping through the basement walls to be collected, and it will also collect water coming through the floor joints. DryTrak is also capable of draining water into your sump pump system.
