Don't Freeze in Fear, The IceGuard is Here!

It’s that time of the year when the temperature drops and your pipes or other lines in your home can freeze. Floods in the wintertime may often seem unexpected, but when the snow thaws or the temperatures drop, floods can absolutely happen.
A frozen pipe that bursts and causes your home to flood is never a good thing.
A clogged or frozen discharge line that is connected to your sump pump system can also result in a major flood happening in your basement.
No one wants to deal with that type of disaster, which can result in belongings getting destroyed and a large sum of money spent to replace the damaged goods or repair your home.
If you’re worried about your discharge line freezing in the wintertime – don’t fret. Our team at The Basement Transformer will equip your home with the IceGuard System to make sure your sump pump system continues to run smoothly even if something goes wrong with the main discharge line.
The IceGuard System gets installed on the main discharge line that runs outside of your home. If the discharge line is not clogged or frozen, the water will flow as normal and past the slotted drain openings found in the IceGuard. However, if the line does become frozen or clogged, the IceGuard automatically gives the water a secondary escape route thanks to the slotted openings and therefore prevents a ton of water from pooling into your basement.
When installing your discharge line, our crew will make sure it extends at a far distance away from your home. If it gets installed too close to the foundation, the water will find its way right back into your basement or crawl space. Our LawnScape Outlet gets placed at the very end of the main discharge line to allow water to gush out onto the surface of your lawn in a controlled setting. It also helps to camouflage the end of the discharge line and can be removed for easy cleaning.
The IceGuard System is compatible with all our sump pump systems and acts as an extra form of protection against floods for homeowners. If you truly want to flood proof your home this winter or have concerns about your basement flooding when the chilly weather comes to your area, contact us today. We are here to help make sure your basement stays dry, no matter what the weather is like!
