How to Transform Your Basement Floor

Are you tired of having a cold, damp, and unsightly looking concrete floor in your basement? Concrete floors in basements can pose a lot of problems and create an unsafe environment for you and your home. Concrete loves to soak up cold air, which can make your floor feel uncomfortable. Concrete is also porous and can let groundwater up through the floor during a slow process.

Laying a wood subfloor on top of concrete won’t help either, as wood is prone to rotting and mold growth. So, what is the solution and what kind of floor is best for a basement environment? Don’t fret! The Basement Transformer has the products and the answers to your questions.

Here are the different types of floor products we have to offer:

1.       ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring

This special flooring mimics the look of wood planks, like the traditional flooring you find throughout the rest of a typical home. Available in two colors, and made of inorganic materials, these planks will hold up in a basement environment in a way wood never could. They can also make your floor up to ten times warmer by creating a thermal break.

2.       ThermalDry Titled Basement Floor Tiles

Our ThermalDry Titled Basement Floor Tiles are made to look like ceramic or stone, but they are installed more easily and last a lot longer. These tiles snap together with their interlocking joints, eliminating the need for mastic or grout that regular tiles would need. They also keep a floor much warmer than stone or ceramic by adding eight to ten° F of warmth. Transition strips can also be added on and easily snap into these tiles.

3.       ThermalDry Carpeted Basement Floor Tiles

If you have ever wanted a carpet in your basement without the threat of mold growth looming over it- then these tiles will make your wish come true! Our ThermalDry Carpeted Basement Floor Tiles can be easily replaced unlike a regular carpet that has to be torn up. No fasteners or adhesives are required; these tiles snap together and then they’re in place. There is also no need for a subfloor or carpet pad.

4.       Thermal Dry Basement Sub Floor Matting

This subfloor matting is the perfect solution to a typical wood subfloor because it will not rot, and it is 100% waterproof! It’s durable, strong, and compatible with tack strips used for wall-to-wall carpeting. If you want to install a carpet all over your basement floor, this subfloor is the answer.

5.       ThermalDry Inuslated Floor Decking

The ThermalDry Insulated Floor Decking combines insulation technology with water resistant flooring. Like our other flooring products, it is made from inorganic materials so it cannot support mold growth. You’ll even gain more headroom with this flooring thanks to its low profile.
