Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproofing a Basement with the DryTrak System in Chester, NY
We installed a two-stage waterproofing system known as DryTrak for a homeowner located in Chester, NY that wanted to eliminate the water in their basement. Water was coming up through cracks in the floor and creating a mess. It was discovered that this homeowner’s foundation was in fact monolithic – which means the flooring and footing are poured in one piece and intense jackhammering all the way around the perimeter must be avoided to preserve the structural integrity of the foundation. Instead, our crew jackhammered several trenches in a grid-like pattern, with the shorter trenches running perpendicular to the walls and the longer trenches towards the inner portion of the concrete floor. Drain pipes were then installed within the trenches and DryTrak was installed along the perimeter of the floor with epoxy as the final touch. The DryTrak itself has a small opening located along the top so that any water leaking through the walls can be collected and directed to the sump pump. Once this system was installed, this homeowner could relax knowing any water intruding into the basement would be dealt with.
Crack in the Concrete Floor
Here you can see the water coming up through the crack in the floor.
Shorter Trenches
Here you can see the shorter trenches that the crew began to dig out.
Shorter Trenches Getting Deeper
Here you can truly see how thick a monolithic foundation is and how long it takes to jackhammer trenches like this.
DryTrak Installed and Concrete Restored
The DryTrak has been installed along the perimeter and the trenches have been covered with concrete once again.
Completed DryTrak Installation
Now any water seeping through the walls will be collected by the DryTrak.
Wet and Damp Concrete Floor
In this photo you can see how truly damp the concrete was under the surface and how much work it took to dig these longer trenches.
The Damp Concrete Floor is No More
Water will no longer be a problem thanks to DryTrak being installed across the entire floor of this basement.
