Starting Off with a Nasty Crawl Space
This crawl space had clear signs of moisture issues. The fiberglass insulation had absorbed moisture, causing it to fall apart and land on the floor of the crawl space.
Laying Down Drainage Matting
The crew began this transformation by laying down some of our drainage matting. This helps carry any water seeping in directly into the sump pump we installed. It also increases the longevity and the durability of the CleanSpace Encapsulation System.
Crawl Space Fully Encapsulated
Now the CleanSpace Encapsulation System has been placed over the crawl space, sealing it off from the earth and preventing water vapor from coming through. This 20-mil reinforced polymer liner does not support mold or mildew growth, prevents pest infestations, and prevents wood from rotting.
Dehumidifier and Sump Pump Installed
Our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier is equipped to filter particles out of the air that are even smaller in size than mold spores or dust mite droppings. It can also remove up to 100 pints of water from your crawl space air per day, creating a dry environment. The SmartSump Crawl Space Sump Pump System that we installed is made specifically for crawl spaces and protects against leaks and floods. It can pump out 2,500 gallons of water per hour at a 5-foot head. We even set up the dehumidifier to drain the water it collects directly into the sump pump, so that it will be carried out and away from the home.
