Water Inside - Beware!
Water was found inside this crawl space by our specialist Lukas. Water lingering inside a crawl space is never a good thing, no matter where it's coming from. It can create an environment in which mold thrives, which can then wreak havoc on the rest of your house.
Laying Down Drainage Matting
To begin our encapsulation process of this crawl space, our crew first installed our drainage matting. The drainage matting helps to enhance the longevity and durability of the liner that gets placed on top.
Crawl Space Sealed
Now the crawl space has been sealed off thanks to our CleanSpace Encapsulation System. This 20-mil thick polymer liner acts as a vapor barrier inside the crawl space and prevents moisture from entering. It also does not support mold growth, so even if it does get wet, there's no risk of mold growing on the liner itself.
Drying the Crawl Space Air and An Alarm for Possible Plumbing Leaks
We installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to dry the air and the contents inside of this crawl space. It can remove up to 100 pints of water from the air per day, which eliminates the humid conditions that mold needs to thrive. We also included a SmartDrain, which will alert the homeowner in the event there is ever a plumbing leak detected. The SmartDrain allows the water to drain underneath the CleanSpace Encapsulation System and into the soil until the leak is fixed.
