A homeowner located in Little Falls, NJ wanted to finish their basement and turn it into a livable and usable space. The homeowner contacted our team at The Basement Transformer to see how we could help them transform their basement into a great space. When our team finishes a basement, we give homeowners products that will truly last and withstand a basement environment. That is exactly why we used our ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring when we redid the floor in this basement. This flooring combines that same pleasing look of a real wood floor with the durability that comes with inorganic materials. Unlike wood, Our ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring will not absorb water, buckle, swell, or rot. They even include pegs so you can lift them off the floor and allow any water that gets underneath to escape. You will not have to worry about mold or foul odors developing because of your basement floor when using our product. This floor can also increase the temperature of your basement floor by 10 degrees, making it feel even more comfortable. Once our team was done with the installation, this homeowner was left with a beautiful basement floor that will last!
A homeowner in Wallkill, NY wanted to make sure their basement stayed dry. Lots of circumstances can arise that make that difficult, but that’s where our products shine. To give this homeowner a peaceful state of mind, our crew installed the IceGuard Discharge Line System. This special addition to your discharge line helps to ensure that water will still be pumped out of your basement even when the temperatures drop. It is installed outside of the home and projects water away from your foundation, in the event your sump pump discharge line freezes or clogs.
The IceGuard gives the water a secondary route to escape through the slotted openings in the drainpipe. This added layer of protection against flooding assured this homeowner that their basement would stay dry no matter what.
This homeowner was experiencing water seeping in from their front lawn and into their basement. The culprit? The garage door. They already had an old drain installed in front of the garage door, but it just wasn’t doing its job properly on its own. A drain like this being in front of the garage door is not an ideal scenario either, as it can freeze over during the colder months. That’s when The Basement Transformer stepped in to fix this problem. We made sure to install our TrenchDrain Grated Drainage Pipe System on the inside of the garage door that leads to the basement, drastically decreasing the possibility of it freezing in the wintertime. The grated opening fits nice & snug on top of the pipe and collects any water that passes over it. That water then gets directed straight into your sump pump system.
This system is also designed to pair with our TrenchLock Drain Inserts, which keep harmful radon gases found in the ground out of your home. We made sure to install these as well, so that water would still be drained properly without having to worry about the toxic air making its way into the basement.
After installing these products, the homeowner knew their front lawn could no longer contribute to making the basement floor wet!
The walls in this homeowner’s basement were deteriorating in appearance and falling apart because of the water that was seeping through the concrete blocks. Efflorescence, which is white and foamy in appearance, was growing all over the walls, showing visible signs of water damage. The key to keeping the moisture out of this basement was using our Foamax walls. Our team installed them for this homeowner, helping to waterproof the walls and improve their overall appearance. The Foamax walls are made from polyisocyanurate foam, which insulates the basement, making it warmer and drier! They are designed with a white foil finish that brings more light into a dark basement, as well as a vapor barrier which controls the humidity levels in the basement. The before and after photos below prove just how much this product truly transformed this basement into something new!
