Faced with the daunting issue of a musty smell emanating from their crawl space, this Bullville, NY homeowner knew it was time for intervention. The before photo captures the origin of the discomfort, an unsealed and vulnerable space prone to moisture — A common scenario for many homes. Our team at The Basement Transformer sprang into action, executing a remarkable transformation as vividly illustrated in the resultant after photo. We expertly installed our CleanSpace system to encapsulate the area, partnered with a SaniDry Sedona to efficiently dehumidify, and safeguarded the space with IceGuard to prevent future flooding risks. Notice the stark difference; our solution doesn't just eliminate the musty smell but also converts the area into a clean, dry, and habitable space.
A crawl space in Warwick, NY needed a complete and total makeover. We removed all the dirt and debris inside this crawl space and transformed it into a dry and healthy environment. Our crew used our SilverGlo panels on the walls and TerraBlock panels on the floor to insulate the crawl space. This keeps the rest of the house feeling comfortable and reduces energy costs. SilverGlo panels stop air leaks, never lose R-value, and cannot be damaged by moisture. TerraBlock is ¾ inch thick flexible foam insulation that features a vapor barrier on the front and the back. Our CleanSpace Encapsulation System was placed over the top to seal off the dirt crawl space from the earth and prevent water vapor from passing through. As a finishing touch, we installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep the humidity under control and to continually dry and the air and the contents inside.
When faced with water intrusion in their crawl space, a homeowner in Fanwood, NJ, turned to us for help. As you can see in the before photo, the area was damp and unwelcoming. But, not anymore! After installing our CleanSpace and IceGuard systems, the transformation is clear. Notice in the after photo how dry and protected the space looks. We've turned their worry into a peaceful mind by providing a reliable solution to keep their crawl space dry and their home safe.
Check out how we encapsulated this crawl space for a homeowner located in Kerhonkson, NY. It was a dirt filled pit with debris and yellow fiberglass insulation all over the ground. Once our team installed our drainage matting with our CleanSpace Encapsulation System over the top, this crawl space became totally transformed. The CleanSpace Encapsulation System sealed off the dirt floor of the crawl space and the concrete block walls, preventing moisture and humidity from passing through. The drainage matting placed underneath helps to enhance the longevity and durability of this 20-mil reinforced polymer liner. We even installed our SmartDrain in this crawl space to alert the homeowner of any future plumbing leaks. Once all these products were installed, this crawl space turned into a dry and healthy environment for years to come!
Located in Sterling Forest, NY - this homeowner wanted their crawl space to be protected from flooding no matter what the weather could bring throughout all four seasons. We installed one of our sump pump systems for them and added the IceGuard Discharge Line System for additional security. The purpose of the IceGuard is simple – to help your sump pump continue to run smoothly in the event the main line freezes in the winter or becomes clogged. Our crew installed this outside of the home so that water is ejected away from the foundation and does not make its way into the crawl space. Digging out the land to install this discharge line was no easy task, since there was a lot of growth in the way, but our crew got it done. The IceGuard fits over the discharge line and creates a secondary escape route for the water, allowing it to leave through the slotted openings in the event the main line does freeze. Once successfully installed, the homeowner knew their crawl space would be safe from possible flooding during the winter. Their sump pump system would keep working thanks to the IceGuard even during the harsh New York winters.
